    2024 MotoGP Discussion Thread *SPOILERS*

"Although Ducati publicly supported Bastianini, there were whispers that one of the lessons from today is that, even if you are sure you are right, it's better in terms of the race result to serve the first penalty..." I do know many teams have issues with some of the race direction rulings on...

Bastanini ignoring the long lap was rally weird. He is certainly making the case that he does not deserve the factory seat anymore.

Got my 'new' blue Gen I running

Awesome! welcome to the Club, My 2003 has 133k miles on it - I bought it with 37k. Mine needs a Carb Clean for sure - but it runs fine once the carbs get warmed up.

Agreed. I hate that there are 8 Ducati's on the Grid. I think Ducati is an amazing brand and they obviously make the best bike right now - but man the lack of variety is ugly. was great having 3 guys neck in neck for the last 7 laps fighting for the lead. Incredible game of cat n mouse.

Agreed - even my wife was on the edge of her seat when Marquez was trying to pass Pecco. A few guys got penalties for Tire Pressures during the sprint - Fabio was demoted a place.... Those tire pressure rules are going to ruin the sport.

I am thinking there was water content in the gas he bought and that is where the white smoke came from along with all the firing issues.

Can you elaborate on the starts easier? Like getting it to actually fie and run is easier on the higher octane or idle when the motor is cold is better? How do you know the engine temp is cooler? My Gen 1 only has a light that comes on if the bike is too hot.

Additives are the most important part. My bike runs like crap on cheap gas but runs good on high quality gas. Also Summer Blend is super noticeable in how my bike runs.

Dirt Bike Experience saved me today.

So on my commute home my GoPro filled up and stopped recording about 1 mile from where this incident happened which is a bummer cause it would have been crazy footage. As I am sure many of you do - I do my best to be a good citizen when riding and notify drivers if something is hanging off...

Anyone else had an awesome ride today?

When my commutes are uneventful I consider that awesome. Was cloudy and in the upper 50s on the ride down to work this morning. Sunny now and in the upper 60s and should be a glorious ride home.

Octane does not = quality - it is just a a measure of detonation. Yamaha says the engine only needs 87 - no reason to go higher. I would stay away from any small brand fuel and stick with the bigger names that have better quality control. Since it was running fine before you filled it up I...

Where do you get your gasoline from? I only put in high quality gas - Chevron, Shell, 76 - being carbureted the cheap gas is harder on the carbs.

Have you tried running Carb/Injector cleaning additives in your fuel to see if that fixes the leaking carbs?

I had a similar issue with my sons quad, the carb overflow line was leaking. I had a local mechanic who works out of his garage rebuild the carb for me and the leaking stopped. White smoke from the tailpipe means you have water/coolant getting into the chamber... probably a leaking head gasket.
