Buttkicker 100,000

Buttkicker 100,000

10 passes in 1-day ride of 400 miles and 106,390 ft. in elevation. I believe Colorado is the only place in the U.S. that this can be done. People will pay money to do this ride, well not this one in particular.

Squaw pass-9800 ft.
Juniper pass-11130 ft.
Loveland pass-11990 ft.
Gore pass-9527 ft.
Tennessee pass-10424 ft.
Fremont pass-11318 ft.
Vail pass-10666 ft.
Hoosier pass-11541 ft.
Red Hill pass-9993 ft.
Kenosha pass-10001 ft.
106,390 ft. total elevation
Moved Permanently Map here
Lots of Beautiful scenery on this route. Would make for a great Fall Colors Ride.

Who's in?

Shall we decide on a date and time?

How about the 28th. or 29th of Sept? Or the 5th or 6th. of Oct.?

Meet at MOCO 7 am. Kickstands up at 7:30 am.

:wow: naturally I'd suggest pics but it doesn't look like you'll be having alot of time for that! Have fun & ride safe......
I hope none of those places on your map were flooded out recently....I thought I read that Morrison had some damage???

Your welcome to join. Only two of us so far.
It looks like we should be okay as far as flooding. I think this will have passed by then, if we don't continue to receive rain.

Thank you very much for the invite, but I'm afraid that is a bit too aggressive for me :scared:
I'm the kind of rider that likes to make lots of stops, to take pics, butt breaks, etc....my husband gets a little irritated with me bout that.

I hope you have a good ride and the colors have changed for ya!

Buttkicker Update

2014 date is Saturday June 7th @ the MOCO in Morrison Colorado. Meet at 7am, kickstands up at 7:30. See original post for location, or map.
Possible new route adds 25000 ft., eliminates one pass but adds three, for only an addl. 85 miles.
Moved Permanently This is the map of the new possible route

Hopefully this gives anyone from out of state enough time to make plans to attend. This maybe a late ride date to some. At least 3 passes will not be clear till late May. Juniper, Squaw, Guanella all have late May opening dates. We have had a significant amount of snowfall in the upper elevations this season, so opening dates are sketchy at best.

Not this summer but perhaps next. I'm starting a work travel swing beginning mid May for 6 weeks.

The route is wonderful. The only pass I would add is Rabbit Ears.

Rabbit ears is on there. Between marker E and F towards SteamBoat. Muddy gap and Rabbit ears are only about 5 miles apart. Shame you can't make it. I've lived in Enid and know how blessed I am to be able to ride up to the mtns. whenever the mood hits me. I'm less then 10 Min. from 3 different canyons, Lookout mtn. and many other fantastic twists.

I grew up in Estes Park and I'm in road withdrawal!

Thanks for the clarification.

Love Estes Park. Shame it was hit so hard economically with the flooding last year. Totally cut off from the front range. Haven't been up there since before the flooding. Most of the temporary road fixes are in place, but I still wouldn't want to take a bike up there unless it was from the Grand Lake side of the park.

Wow. I didn't realize the roads were damaged that much.

I clearly recall the Big Thompson flood when I was a kid.

I may be in for this ride in the fall if I can get things to fall right. I live in the far north Idaho at Priest lake and thinking of going to Michigan in the fall to visit my daughter and grandkids. May be a welcome side trip after slab riding to Michigan:-}

Lived in Mtn. Home many, many years ago. Learned to drive on the logging roads of Anderson ranch resv. and surrounding areas. All of 13 yrs. of age. Idaho is beautiful and I've been wanting to return for many years now. Just never seem to find the time, being a responsible adult and all. LOL!!! Would be great to be able to show you the great roads on offer in Colorado.

The Buttkicker is just 2 weeks out. Who's coming? Let's see some enthusiasm. This is a great day ride. Would be nice to have more than just me on it.

I learned a long time ago when planning rides to assume you are going alone. Invite friends, or even strangers but set a time and place of departure and stick to it. If others show up for the ride, great, if not their loss. Just do it and have fun! Take pictures and make the no-shows wish they had.

It's sad that that is the reality of today. Everyone is busy with their lives and don't take the time to smell the roses. I'm just as guilty. I have family just like many others, but I do have an understanding wife and daughter. We have our family trips and vacations, along with dads solo trips. It works really well for all.
As far as making people wish they had come. Impossible for me to convey the feelings of excitement, anxiety, inspiration, and joy of such an adventure.
This ride is not quite the adventures I've read about that you've posted. But for a city boy. Pretty damn good!
