i disconnected mine when installing my Akrapovic slip on to my 09. Made no difference at all. Sounds great now, no warning lights or problems!

I rarely put faith in factory tyres whether on a bike or car. The only time i ever have was on a 07 Subaru STI. that had $550 per wheel rubber!!
