Even though I have a Gen 1, I went with 04 R1 forks and couldn't be happier. I made a spacer that is listed on this link. I re-used the Fz stem, pressed it out myself, and added R1 tree's, axel, brakes, SS-lines and the fender.

I have the same Drc tool listed above. Without a doubt it is one of the best, innovative tools that is a must have for your garage. I put a 530 chain on my FZ and it was a breeze. Make sure you read and follow the directions. The pins are easily bent.
Here are the directions on installation. Dunno if there will help or not.

Why do they need to be rebuilt? Were they damaged?
Usually they just need a good cleanng and sync..
Holy high prices. I just got a rear power pilot installed today. I purchased it online, it took 5 mins to remove the rear rim and my local independent charged me $22 !!!!!
I noticed that I'm not leaking anymore. It's a common mod. I disabled all of the lines and took the carbs into Napa and matched the plugs up. Just to be safe I added hose clamps. Now I have more room for maintenance.
Great Video. I just changed the seals on my R1 forks. I built the spring compressor, sleeve driver
and rod damper holder out of PVC. Everything cost me $5.00
Videos like this have helped me with confidence on tackling projects on my FZ1.
Keep it up!!
I purchased the tap, bolts, washers and used Red Loctite.
I think everything cost me less than $10.00.
Since I had the motor out installation was a breeze.
I used a rubber plug that I had lying around in the garage to plug the connector to the air box.
It worked like a charm.
Good luck...
I'm cleaning out my garage and looking to get rid of some things. I am not looking to make a bundle, I just want the stuff gone. If interested send me a message. Prices are negotiable and subject to shipping costs. If no one is interested I will post on E-Bay. All parts as-is.
