You're from my part of town. I just picked up an 09 in Lancaster a couple months ago. Just took a ride on angeles forest highway yesterday. Let me know if you ever want to head out for a ride.
I get a hot rotor on my gen1 as well even without using the brake at all. I can move the rear wheel with my hand ok when the bike isn't running. It will do about one revolution if I spin the tire with my hand. I've just sort of lived with this issue.
I think messing with diodes and soldering things together has some folks intimidated. It's not a a very common thing to mess with these days. Have a look at Radioshack, they are now in bankruptcy.
Zady, I would bet that your fix would be fine for 90 percent of the people who are having trouble with the throttle snatch issue. Seems like an awesome and cheap fix to try.
I'm curious how this is causing less throttle snatch. Is it because of the voltage drop of all the diodes in series? I think each diode drops .7 volts when its forward biased. Or do the diodes ever get reversed biased and act to block current flow? If they are never reversed biased then maybe a...
I used to have an fjr. I've got a first generation fz1 now and the sitting position is much better on this bike than the fjr. My back is having less problems on the fz1 than the fjr.
