No I didn't put the whole can down, but I probably did put more than I should have. I understand the choke don't have to be on that long, but if I put it to half choke or take out all choke immediately the bike will die, which I found not normal.
The bike only has 12k miles on it. It's an...
Hi all,
I have a couple observations on my FZ1 that I'm not sure if it's normal.
First of all, when I start the bike without choke, it's start and runs/idle fine (usually). However, if I start it with full choke, it will start at around 2k RPM as expected, but then it will drop to 1 to 1.5k...
I tried that already to no avail. It's like the key is hitting a wall of sort, it just won't turn. I looked underneath the switch to see what kind of bolt is holding it down. To my surprise there seems to be a Hex pattern there and there seems to be some tempering around the hole. I am wondering...
Hi all,
When I bought my FZ1 the owner said the steering lock cannot be lock. I was under the suspicious that it was due to the key as both of them are not original. Now I have someone cut a key for me, and the new key still doesn't work.
I talked to the dealer and they said it has to be...
The bike was sitting inside, not sure if it's heated or not. Also uncertain about the battery if it's out or not. I just bought a new batt. and will put it in to see if it'll do the same thing.
That's what I think is odd too. Also in alaska mist of the bikes sit for the winter (sept to around apr/may) so I won't be too surprise the batt has been sitting for a bit. However, the previous owner said he's rode the bike earlier.
When I turn of the bike with the ignition switch so it...
Hi all, it's my 1st post here
I was riding my newly aquired 01 FZ1 for about a week without any trouble. But then yesterday I was going to my buddy's house. I parked on the sidewalk and turned off the engine to make a phone call for direction. Then when I tried to start the bike (5 min stop...
Hi all from Alaska, 1st post here! I got a 2001 FZ1 last week and so far I'm enjoying it! It's a LOT smoother than my 92 Seca II. While it's not wothout its problem, I think it's pretty good for the price ($2200, 12k miles on the clock.)
