    Need FZ1 sticker removal help.

All of the above advice is spot-on. I'm willing to bet that the reason you're having a particularly hard time is because the sticker in question has been on there for over a decade and has done plenty of baking in the sun. From my experience, the longer it's on there and the more it's exposed...

    Complete and utter disbelief

DAMN!! Never saw the original thread.. unreal!! Glad they're behind bars!

    aftermarket levers

Yup! If your bike spends a lot of time in the sun, black will fade in about 1 season. It'll turn to bronze color. Will not affect function, obviously. I've had 2 sets (1 on FZ6 and 1 on FZ1) for many years.. no issues, besides fading. They do sell slightly more expensive folding ones, if...

Houston Yamaha Demo Days - 2/12014

Haven't ridden FZ9 yet (will in a month), but agree on all of the above @ FJR.. what a great ride!! I'm surprised you didn't take Super Ten out (being closer to your Tiger than any other Yami offerings). Or did you already ride that one? I enjoyed riding Super Ten.

Givi PLXR rack + Graves FE + stock signals = ok?

Just thought of more signal ideas: LICENSE PLATE TURN SIGNALS :: Turn Signals :: Lockhart Phillips USA

Givi PLXR rack + Graves FE + stock signals = ok?

Oh and congrats on your move from FZ6 to FZ1!! I did the same 2.5 years ago.

Givi PLXR rack + Graves FE + stock signals = ok?

I'm running that rack + FE, but no way will stock signals fit on the inside of the rack with side cases mounted. Either have to use the signal extenders which come with the rack (uber ugly, but functional), or go with smaller signals or integrated tail (which is what I have).

New York Safety Track Shut Down?

Here's their Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/NYSafetyTrack If anything does happen, I expect to see news there.

New York Safety Track Shut Down?

Really bad news indeed. A bunch of people (myself included) bought into the groupon deal: 2 track days + membership for the year. Waiting to hear what'll happen with that. (really hope they'll be able to sort it out and go on with 2014 season)

    08 Shifting issue

Start with the simplest stuff: Is shifting linkage clean and well lubricated? (very easy to do). How long has it been since last oil change? Oil level? What oil are you running?

    Cool Motocycle vid

Initiate the turn with countersteer then clutch + a lot of RPM + Lock up rear brake + dump the clutch as you release rear brake. Not saying you should do this. Not saying it's a safe or smart thing to do... BUT.. that's one way to do it :D

    Parking Lot Scares

This was few months ago: Arrived at work and about to park. I'm moving at ~10mph between 2 isles of cars. My left indicator is on. Just as I'm about to turn left into a parking spot, SUV blows by me on my left, between me and parked cars, at about 25mph. No crash or drop, but the driver...

    FZ1 with passenger ?

I've done few thousands miles with my girl on the back. I'm 170 and she's 120. I've got 07 (all Gen2s have the same spring, except for 06 which was firmer). With preload cranked all the way up, the spring feels ok (never bottoms). Oh.. I also use hard luggage .. so add another 30-40 pounds...

    An Internet Friend Died

Terrible. Very sorry for your loss, Pete :( Many years ago, an Internet friend of mine died. This was a cycling forum and he had a heart attack when he was out riding. I never met him, but I remember crying like I lost someone in my immediate family.

    Screen Help

You've discovered what many before you have. No screen = quietest ride with no buffeting, but at the cost of significant wind pressure at higher speeds. If I stayed off highways, I'd have no fairing. The cheapest (and good-looking) solution: stock screen cut way down. This is what I use in the...

    GPS anyone?

Ah.. gotcha. As I mentioned, I've been using zippered Arkon version for many years. Never had an issue.
