Temps down here in the winter are around 20c in the day. If you were to ride some of the roads in the maps it will be closer to 10c with snow above 5000'. I ditched all my winter gear after I moved here as it never really gets cold.

A young and stupid pilot wanted to sound cool on the aviation frequencies.

Instead of making any official requests to the tower, he said: "Guess who?"
The controller switched the field lights off and replied: "Guess where!"
There are a few American cars imported into Blighty. The importing of bikes is much rarer. As long as vehicle ownership can be proved and the vehicle pass a safety exam (MOT), usually there is no problem. I know a bloke who bought a Suzuki SV1000S out here, rode it and then shipped it to Blighty...
Welcome RAD555. Apart from the 2 differences you mention the only other thing I can think of is have the headlights been swapped out? You'll soon get used to the gauge in fahrenheit.
