Take the course and go from there but honestly for a first bike it is a bit of overkill (no pun intended). If you have self control and throttle control you will learn and enjoy but I would never recommend a litre bike as a first bike for what's it worth.
I very very very rarely ever have to down shift even on my Gen1 to pass unless pass is under 60mph.
Ride one is all I can say, from 65 to 90mph more that acceptable for street riding. If you are coming from a HD or a Marauder you better duck tape your hands to the bars.
Won't be trying that in good old WINTERPEG.....we cannot get out of this freaking deep freeze here over 70 days so far this winter with over -40Cel temps with windchill.....-33 last night and calling for -37 tomorrow night and that is with NO wind.
Sucks too cold to even sled........enjoy it...
I have decided to sell my mint Gen 1 seat as I cannot see putting it on bike again now that I have the Corbin.
Asking $ 75 plus shipping.
I am located in New Bothwell MB R0A 1C0 and when I had my Corbin shipped from the lower 48 I believe it was in the $ 50 range.
If interested PM me
Did oil change last weekend but since have not taken bike out once this week.....looks like done with snow and flurries all week and lows of -8C next week.
Time to focus on the sled.
I have been considering adding a bike to the garage but torn between new FJR so wife and I can curse or me just being selfish as usual and going with a BMW 1000 RR
You need to swap the seat clip. Corbin is also very snug when on bike so make sure it is latched in at tank before riding away.
Enjoy probably the best money I have spent in bike so far is Corbin
Being in Manitoba my cut off limit is -2C which I think is about 28 F. I have heated grips which helps and I find it good practice to prepare my buddy for snowmobiling (frozen fingers).
My commute is about 35 miles each way and I really do not like riding below freezing as I have a couple of...
Wow base model is $ 2195.00 more than my snowmobile trailer lol. The one that I would need would be more like $ 5000 bucks based on what I saw considering my Malamute is 165 lbs and Anatolian Shepherd 90 lbs
I commute about 70 miles a day 75% of those highway, filled up last night 18.75 Liters which is 4.95 US gals after 185 miles = 37mpg
