    No Start / Clock Reset

Once again (happened last season for a bit also) when I go to start bike (intermitent problem) it is a no go. Turn key have power, hit start button and nothing at all, clock resets and that is it. Then if I bump start it or even just turn it over with a bump it WILL start? Happened last...

    New Tire

What can I say it is Manitoba the roads suck but that being said a good portion of the riding season is in cool weather. Even today it was only plus 5C this morning but this afternoon 30C. I ride mostly highway and geared up to 16/46 from 15/47 so that should help big time with tire wear also.

    New Tire

Just for info if anybody is interested this is what I had for mileage on my last 3 sets of tires (disregard what I posted earlier as what I was looking at was Peralli mileage) Dunlop Sportmax Q2 - 6400km Peralli Diablos - 8200 km Peralli Scorpian Sync - 11,800km I will give the Pilot a...

    New Tire

I looked at my log, exact mileage was 8,243 km. I commute mostly highway at 120 to 140 kph. I am actually pretty hard on tires but honestly got more miles out of my previous Peralli's Diablos. You also have to keep in mind that up North a good 4,000 of those km's are in or near freezing temps...

    New Tire

Well 10,000 kms later and I am in the search for a new rear tire (cords are showing), honestly I am not that impressed with the Dunlop Q2 life (tire it's self was good) as on previous sets of Peralli's I have also gotten over 10,000km. I am lean to Bridgestone Battlax BT 016 and just wondering...

What did you do to your FZ today?

Got bike back today with new DID X ring chain and Renthal 16/45 sprockets. Honestly not that much of a difference form running 15/47, what is nice is at 70 mph bike is reving 5,000 in stead of 5,500.

    Riding in Rain?

I stand corrected just took a look and it is NOT rainx what I use on truck but Plexus for my shield. Sorry have both bottles and it has been a while since I use them (winter here). Honestly over the past year I pretty much just use lemon pledge on both my bike and sled windshield and I am...

What type of riding gear and when ??

If you asked me this 25 years ago it would have been shorts, t-shirt (maybe), sun glasses and runners. Oh and always thin riding gloves. Now older and wiser always ride with full Joe Rocket gear and full face helmet hot or cold. Same goes for sledding never ride without body armour it is the...

What did you do to your FZ today?

Starting riding March 30th, little cool in the mornings (-2C) but that is what heated grips are for, coming home from work all good (+17 range). Not bad for Winterpeg, after this winter second guess why I have a sled should just sell and buy another bike.

    older FZ1

Gen 1 are great bikes, common upgrades are Ivan's jet kit other than that look for typical stuff tires, chain, sprocket and overall condition of bike. You will get many miles out these so enjoy. As I say for any bike ride it and see if it is the bike for you, I was going to sell my Gen 1 for...
