    Pilot Road 4. Ohh yea

So I just had a new set of PR4's installed and have put on 600 miles (300 today of good high speed sweepers). All I have to say is 4 thumbs up, 5 gold stars, and one happy man. I've gone through PR2's and hated those. PR3's are quite the improvement and a very capable tire. The Pilot Road 4 is...

PHOENIX peeps ride for Memorial Day Weekend

Yep, I've been a busy boy. Getting a quick little fun run in today. The PR4's are like glue. I don't even feel the need to lean the bike over. They just stick.

PHOENIX peeps ride for Memorial Day Weekend

Hi all, I have been working my butt off the last couple of months and have had not much time for fun. I just recently got a new set of Pilot Road 4's and need to go get them some use after putting 250 miles of commute on without any fun roads. So if anybody is free this Saturday, I'm...

In NEED of cooling system help

If they did the cam chain tensioner and changed that gasket at the same time would that do anything to contribute to leaking coolant from the top of the engine, or the buildup of pressure that would blow off hoses? Also they did the Roth AIS plates for me and they unplugged the hose out of...

In NEED of cooling system help

So I was given the advice to flush the reservoir by my father because of the sediment I was seeing in the system. And while doing some research on how to remove the reservoir (Which how do you remove the reservoir from the side of the frame?), I came across this thread...

In NEED of cooling system help

I'm thinking it's the hose on the top that was mentioned to get kinked. I've been checking around the cap and radiator the whole time. The leak started after the bike was worked on. At first it was just a drop here and there, then it started getting worse. It comes from the center of the...

head light and rear brake don't work after changing turn signal

Glad you got it figured out. Double check your wiring for a short somewhere. I went through 2 fuses before I found my short. Keep a spare fuse on the bike fore sure

In NEED of cooling system help

I know strange. I've got a feeling the line might be kinked as suggested. It's the only thing that makes sense other than the inside of a hose has gone bad and is spitting debris through the system. The AZ desert is getting to the bike.

In NEED of cooling system help

Thanks, I was letting the engine cool down before I get my hands in there. I opened the radiator cap and there is some black flecks in there. Maybe the hoses are breaking down. Is 34,000 miles a lot on a set of hoses?

In NEED of cooling system help

Hi guys, It's been awhile since I've been on. I've been super busy and just grinding away So, the current issue I need help with is I keep getting a coolant leak from the top (center of the bike). The bike will just start spitting coolant out and at one point I had it towed to the shop...

    Micron Exhaust

congrats, and great deal. You'll love it. I've had mine on for 10,000 miles. I do have to use noise cancelling headphones now because it's loud. FYI revving the engine in an underpass is so much fun. Schuyler

Cant get shogun sliders into frame hole???!!

I have the same sliders, had the same numbering on them. The pics look normal, no sanding needed. My engine shifted a little when I had undone the factory bolts and thankfully for a dirt line I was able to nudge it back. You can keep tightening and crush the plastic and aluminum insert inside...

    Some advice and thoughts wanted

It frayed at the lever point. The rest of the cable was fine outside of where I split the casing when I crashed. I did not replace the cable, I was told the routing was done in a good way. The lever action is a lot smoother.

    Some advice and thoughts wanted

They said it had looked worn, maybe had a little more life to it, and the idle is a lot more stable after it was replaced. I didn't ask any more than that because the bike was running better.

    Some advice and thoughts wanted

The plan is to wait until the next valve check in 30,000 miles for the plugs to be done again. At $40 for the set, the price doesn't bother me. And each time I've replaced the plugs the bike seems to have a little more pep in it's step which is worth way more than the money. (plus most of the...

    Some advice and thoughts wanted

I only lubed them once about 15,000 miles ago. I also live in dry AZ. The clutch cable frayed because I had purchased cheap $30 Chinese shorty levers. It didn't sit correctly and there was some up and down play when pulling the lever, I'm sure that put extra wear on to the cable.

    Some advice and thoughts wanted

Great point. The front fork springs and bushings along with a Penske rear are the next steps. The valve check was 6,000 miles past due. The plugs were last replaced 18,000 miles ago. I think the regular are supposed to be done every 8 or 12,000 miles. The iridium I think are supposed...

    Some advice and thoughts wanted

I just took my 2009 Fz1 into the shop at 32,000 miles to have the valves checked, new iridium plugs, new cam chain tensioner (starting to sound like a loose tin can), new clutch cable, new throttle cable. I also finally did the AIS block off plates. Must recommend this. After riding the...
