Speedo-gearing
Hey guys, one thing i did notice is i was getting about 36 miles to the gallon on highway doing about 75 most of the way, I also noticed my speedo said 80 but my gps said 75, do you think the gearing may have been changed prior to me getting the bike?
Soft bags
They aren't anything special, just large Cortech saddle bags and the large Tourmaster seat bag. I have the Givi luggage rack underneath to keep them from swinging into tire area. I used 2 cargo nets to hold the bad on top, which made a good spot to put extra gloves and sweat shirt and...

blue light special
only had one cop look at me on the way up and he was on a motorcycle, that pulled up next lane over and gave me the slow down a bit sign and then continued past me and off the exit, wehhhh, close one.
Made it home
Well I made it home with the new bike, 1063 miles and can't wait to get on it again, maybe for not that long a ride right away though. Only had one close call last night, pouring rain doing about 50 in heavy traffic, some woman decides to change lanes and almost takes me out, can't...
I picked up my new to me 09 FZ1 today in Forte Oglethorpe GA, it had 1812 miles on it, I spent 2 hrs in a sunny HOT parking lot putting luggage racks on (courtesy of Old School), wiring up my Garmin GPS, mounting SATANs pegs and figuring out how to mount my new soft luggage without messing up...
I hear that's what its made for, I'm flying to GA monday and putting it on under my new soft saddlebags and then driving 1100 miles home to massachusets, i tried peeling the Snider's off at the dealership, and believe me it doesn't slip...kinda like a very thick version of that stuff on the...
Clear paint protector
I got a whole package of it at Enfield Motorsports in CT, they use it on the saddlebags of all the new bikes in the showroom because when a buyer is trying out a new bike they always scuff their foot across top of new hard luggage. Its a clear non-adhesive static vinyl...
Oh my god, I had a 76 550 four back in 1981 when i got my license, almost exactly the same, except i had crash bars on front, and a king-queen seat with sissy bar. I'll never forget it, metal flake orange paint and all...LOL
Oh it matters how fast you get to speed limit, I did that once, ok maybe twice in my 87 Grand National, 0 to 45 really quickly, they banged me for reckless driving, and court fee's, Oh that hurt. that was in Mass by the way.
