I think we're all well justified in purchasing these essential parts for our bikes. If I listed my wifes purchases of shoes and hand bags the list (and cost) would be endless, and ever growing...
TW4, I've had the rear panels off today and the rear mounting brackets bolt directly to the Sub frame which I beleive is predrilled but you should check that out.
There seems to be two conversations going on in this thread so I'll not post anymore here.
Hi TW4, Here are a few pictures of the mounting points for the Yamaha panniers. I think you have to cut away a section of under panel of the rear seat to mount the rear bracket. Let me know if you need anything else.
I dropped in a picture of the Micron exhaust, looks and sounds great.
Hi Tw4, Ref pictures of the FZ1S maounting brackets. There's a limit on the picture size you can upload on this site and I can't get my photos small enough. If you send me your emaila ddress I'll send them to you directly.
Cheers
Neil
Hi TW4, I purchased my bike second hand and it came with Yamaha hard panniers fitted. The mounting bracket secures to the subframe from under the rear seat panels. I'll try and get a few pictures for you. The top box a very tall and narrow and will not fit two helmets which is a shame. It...
Hi Hellgate, I have an 06 model and I think you definately need the FCE. I never noticed any snatching while cornering but I got fed up with the heavy engine breaking every time I closed the throttle to change gear. As for the sub plates I've fitted a pair and they do a great job but $40...
I got to ride the K1300R, it's a great bike and ozes quality although I must say I prefer the seating position of the FZ1.
For me the ride was very ordinary, 20 minutes of following traffic down the main road when there are so many great roads in the area.
What a shame it could hav ebeen a...
I used to drive (car) to london each monday morning starting at 4am and I must have hit just about every species of creature residing in England. During one year I hit a duck (flew in low and crashed into the side of the car) a dear (head on) two crows (in one incident) numerous rabbits and a...

I ran Diablos on my Aprilia RSV and loved them. They took me on a very sporty trip around the Swiss Alps and a few circuits of the Nurberg ring ta boot.
My FZ1 came with a Power on the back and Battlax 015 on the front. Not my choice but haven't really pushed the bike so don't know if they...
I have a full micron GP system, it came with the bike when I bought it. The can is tiny and only weights about 1.5kg, there doesn't seem to be any wadding at all inside.
It sounds great and if you can get hold of one buy it you won't be disapointed.
I have to give you just one more example, just for a laugh, in Canberra, the capital of Australia, they have double demerrit points on holiday weekends. Don't know why as the crime isn't any worse on a holiday weekend as it is any other weekend. So if for example you're caught speeding 12kmh...
If you think thats crazy try this, Australia has a tradition of making Retrospective laws. That means when some one for example finds a loop in the tax laws, Politicians then make a new law and backdate it six months or a year so they can make prosecutions on people who were, at the time, not...
There you go Scout, you can't have it all! We have fantastic weather year round although it is a little hot mid summer. When it rains here it's normally terrential but short lived and infrequent. Jan-Feb is the wet season. For the rest of the year the weather is awsome.
As for the Police...
Hi Burkerider, If you fancy coming along in the morning let me know. Otherwise some time soon if you like. I like early starts, the roads empty and the Police are in bed asleep! That's not to say I ride fast I just feel a bit more comfortable when the police aren't around.
Take care
Hi all, Does anyone know where I can get a servicing schedule? I bought my bike without a service book so have no idea what needs checking/replacing and when.
Would I be right in thinking the Shims need checking and the plugs need changing at 24k kilometres?
