How do I install Ivans FCE?
Hi guys. I just bought the whole nine yards from a guy for my 06 FZ1...yoshi, PCIII, FCE, etc. The only thing I don't have is the instructions for installing the FCE. Does anyone know where I can get instructions? I will call Ivan to see if I can get them if...
Rifle wind screen
Hey Wayne,
I had the rifle windscreen on my 07 FZ1. It offers pretty good wind protection and looks okay for winter driving. The only thing I didn't like was the noise. My head was right in the buffet area coming off the windscreen. If I crouch below it the sound was very...
I too am at about the same "beginner" level as the original poster. Also learing stoppies. So far unable to roll them out. Just stopping stoppies. 18000 miles and have a leaky fork seal I'll be changing out tomorrow. I'll try to post a video at some point. Comic relief.
Hey Joe,
Just got the guard delivered to the house. I'm installing it now. Looks great in the box! Hope it looks even better on the bike. (I don't have any good place to strap the box onto my bike :o ). Pleasure doing business with you. Thanks again!
Chris
I installed the SpeedoDRD. Everyone on here said it was easy to do and works great. I can not disagree. It is awesome. With -1/+2 sprocket change, I had a -14.3% correction ratio. My speed is on the money now (per GPS) and my odometer reads approximately 3% low now. I like that because the...
Thanks. If you do get head shake or the dreaded tank slapper, will the damper actually stop it or rather does it prevent it from occuring in the first place?
I just do street riding and I am in the process of becoming a self-taught, over-the-hill, old fart hooligan (wheelies, stoppies & burnouts only - I won't be sitting on the tank, standing on my head or any other monkey business). I suppose the steering damper is like paying for insurance. I...
NJ thanks for the picture and the info. You are the man! I will have to get some pictures on here of my bike, sprocket, etc. Its mostly stock but in great shape. I'll have to figure out how to do it. I'm pretty new to this forum stuff. Thanks again for that help.
Hey Everyone,
Well NJFZ1 gave me some good advice about 16/47T sprocket setup and now I have 3 questions about the SpeedoDRD.
#1. Where is the speedometer input on a 2006 FZ1?
#2. On the SpeedoDRD, will the wires be long enough to put it under the seat so it can be reprogrammed later if...
FYI...Found out on a different thread that stock chain will work with 16/47 sprockets but you have to move the wheel full forward (with the axle removed), slip the chain on and then pull the tire/wheel back and insert axle.
Thanks NJ...I will try that and hopefully sliding the wheel forward without the axle will work. I have already bought the 47T. It is a Supersprox - black on the outside and gold on the inside which matches the gold forks perfectly and looks awesome on my Red FZ1. I'll try it and let you all know.
Thanks! I know a lot of guys seem to be running 16/47 on their FZ1s so I should have just asked those guys how long the chain must be. Would it be more economical to buy the chain & tool myself and do it or bring it to a bike shop and have them do it?
Thanks again.
16/47 chain length requirements?
I just put on a 16T and want to put on a 47T Supersprox on the back. How long must the chain be? My stock 122 link wasn't even close. Is 130 links enough???
Thanks
FYI...Today I put a 47 tooth sprocket on my stock 2006 FZ1. The stock chain wasn't even close to being able to fit even with the wheel pushed full forward. I put the stock sprocket back on and put a 16 tooth on the front. I have no doubt that the stock chain still won't fit if I try the 47T...
