painting heat shields
I painted mine with brake caliper heat paint it comes in many colors. I painted mine black like the 2010 FZ1. Just sand it with a fine grit sand paper around a 360. No problemswith it staying on over the summer last year. Hope it helps.
I have an hyperpro on my 2006 no affect on the steering lock to lock. I also have risers. The steering damper is good improvement especially with rough pavement on turns.

I have the lower fairings on my 2006, I agree they look great. The only issue I have with it is during oil change. Hard to get at the filter. I usually remove the fairing to complete the oil change.
