Yamaha windscreen
Never heard of that problem before....it is genuine Yamaha part...like the standard one. I doubt they would sell a windshield that melted instruments.
windscreen
I only had the Touring Windscreen on the bike for a short time. I decided I liked the way the bike looked better with the smaller stock windscreen and since I did no touring I decided to sell the Touring windscreen.
I have a Yamaha Touring Windscreen in very good condition for $60. plus Shipping.
Part # ABA3C3031000. Please see photos enclosed
Someone wanted to see it on the bike and since I had to clean my stock one, I put on the Touring WS and took a couple of pics.

Does anyone have a damaged Gen 2 (2008) drivers seat that the vinyl is cut or torn that I can pick up cheap? The base and padding need to be in good shape. If you have one please send a photo of the top and bottom sides of the seat. Thanks.
gas mileage
...one other thing...when I first got the bike I started using 93 Octane fuel...and my mileage was 28-30....when I switched to regular 87 Octane it actually improved 33-38 mpg and the performance was good. These bikes run great on regular gas..I think using higher Octane gas is...
gas mileage
I have a 2008 and check gas mileage regularly. I get between 33 and 38 mpg consistently. My riding buddy has a 2008 also..he usually gets between 40-42 mpg...which I can only attribute to riding style because we both have about the same few mod to the bikes. If I was only getting...

Michelin PR3's last year
Well I installed a set of Michelin PR3's last year and have since put 10,000 miles on them. The rear tire is pretty much worn in the center and the front seems to still have a little life. I did get some odd wear at about 3-4000 miles that reminded me of cupping on the...
tires
I now have 8500 miles on my Pilot Road 3's and they should go another 3-4000 miles. Great tire...good grip and long wear life. I will get another set when its time to replace them.
Thanks for the reply super googan. I think you are probably on the right track with the kill switch. I never use it...rather use my key. In attempts to start the bike when it turned over but wouldnt fire up...friends and I cycled the Kill switch a number of times. We also jiggled the clutch...
