Rossi is looking pretty darn fast this year ! He's had a bit of bad luck but his pace seems a bit better overall this year. I had a feeling he would do better than most with the New less intrusive ECU.
Only thing I can offer is try low rpm while drilling and keep lubricating the bit. High speed and no lube will just kill the bit faster.
Take your time.
Check out the coils while you're doing the plugs. Quite a few FZ1 owners have had coil issues. Any moisture around the coils from that rain would aggravate a coil issue. Many of the failed coils are from bad insulators allowing spark leak. Just be aware many coils test within spec on a meter...
Add me to the list of members with a failed coil. Bike has had an intermittent stumble or hiccup at low rpm for a longgggg time. Never could trace the problem.
When the issue was minor the temp difference between all 4 cylinders was only 20F. Last week she started sounding like a triple at...
Just had the very same issue, erratic idle and a hiccup or even bucking between idle and 2000 rpm. Found the bad cylinder with one of those laser temp reading guns. Bad cylinder was 30F cooler than the others. Replaced the coil and plug for that cylinder and all is well now. I actually think...
If the lever seems to move more than or as much as it did with the stock lines, then you still have air in the system. Well bleed braided lines should feel noticeably firmer than stock rubber lines.
Probably still a bit of air in the system. I'd pump it up, hold pressure and crack each...
I've owned quite a few sportbikes and I can't say any of them had decent mirrors. I even bought spacers to move the mirrors out on the FZ1 but they are still not perfect. Being able to see whats behind and next to you at all times WITHOUT taking your eyes off of whats in front of you is...
Considering top line helmet prices from Shoei and Aria are already well over $600 the price seems reasonable. Heads up display with the GPS and especially rear view cam could be a life saver.
I REALLY like the thought of a wide view rear camera with heads up display.
Of course if its heavy...
Did you guys get the AFR reading or just a power run ? I Still wonder if running Ivans map ( made for the Yosh ) Hurts the Arrows performance on the dyno .
Keep in mind Ivans map was designed for the Yosh header not the Arrow. That may effect the results as much as the design of the different headers does. I'd like to see the AFR ratio and see how close that is between the two bikes along with HP and torque.
This is not the first time I've heard someone mention a problem with the K&N fitting correctly. Try the search feature at the top of the page for more info. I THINK I remember someone saying to not use the metal spacer that comes with it... but I'm not sure.
So we now have the FZ07 and FZ09.........please Yamaha continue the trend and give me a FZ11 ! Make it a triple with 140-150hp at the wheel with a little wind protection like the current FZ1 and I'm sold :)
I check my 2011 frame often myself, better safe than sorry. I'm one of those types that checks tire pressure and gives the bike a once over almost every time I ride it . Hell I even check the lawnmower oil before I start it. My wife found me under her Pathfinder the other day and says " what...
I can assure you that a sync is not going to fix your issue. They are already very close and no where near bad enough to cause any noticeable issue, don't waste your time .
A 2HG spread across 4 cylinders is nothing !
My wife always says I have a mouth like a truck driver :) ( no offense to truck drivers ) lol.
I don't think anything is wrong with the design of the frame. Probably just bad welds. Someone may have put the wrong numbers into the robotic welder. I'm sure he was compelled to commit ritual...
OldSchool, if I seem worked up and annoyed its at Yamaha not you ! Just seems we live in a world where people are so used to getting screwed by big corporations that when its only a partial screwing we have become conditioned to feel grateful. LOL
So thank you Yamaha for only giving...
