I had something like that on my FZ09 happening to me. End up being a shaved wire that was grounding on the frame. The harness got cough the triple tree and steering stop. Might not be it but its a cheap thing to do. I just use tape over the harness and made sure the loom was out of the way...

I used advgear in the PCV. I copied & paste the same map in all gear then lean out the cruising range to a safe AFR in 5th & 6th. Sort of under 20% throttle in your RPM range. You still have full powwwa in all gear at WOT or in the "twistie range" and get better MPG on cruising.

Tuono is a killer ride. My wife will learn on the FZ6R then I'll get her a ride. FZ-09 and either a Strom 1K or S10 will be my tour bike.
