    PC3/Velocity stacks Mapping

Understood, likely the gutted cat and pipe has created a lean spot and bog but nothing to do with the velocity stacks

    PC3/Velocity stacks Mapping

I agree the stacks should help the mid range. The WOT fuelling should not change unless you have made other mods like pipe or gutting the cat etc.

    2001 FZ1 VS 2004 Daytona 955I

I had an 02 Daytona last year and have a couple of gen 1 fz's. I've had both bikes on the our Dyno and the FZ made 140+ the daytona 134+. The daytona is a few pounds lighter though and seat of the pants they feel very close. ...Riders being equal in a straight line I think it would be very close...

    tire size

My thought on this was the 190/50 tire is ideally designed for a 6" rim with its 10mm wider width. If its used on a 5.5" rim the profile arc will likely closer to the 180/55. I have 2 FZ gen 1's....one with a 180/55 and the other a 190/50. Tomorrow I 'm going to take a piece of wire and bend it...

    02 FZ1 Re-gains its Street Wothyiness!

They are universal EMGO 5 3/4" with side mounts. I ordered these in through one of our suppliers here in Canada but I'm sure many suppliers have access to them. My cost was around $38 each, They don't plug into the stock harness but I did splice on a male adapter sockets purchased from NAPA...

    New Yamaha Project???

I'm sure the 4 brush starter being able to spin the engine faster will smooth out the uneven compression pulses and help the life of the gears and one-way clutch.

Yamaha sales down 12.8% in 2012

Yes they've had their hands in not just engineering but also some production aspects of engines for other manufactures. Combined with Yamaha's diversifications and for politiclal reasons they probibly don't want to get into producing complete Cars.

Yamaha sales down 12.8% in 2012

Out of the top 4 Jap manufactures, Honda and Suzuki have had the experiance of automotive competition where fit and finish are scruitinzed intensly. Yamaha doesn't have that direct brand name establishment of automotive but we all know they have diversities the others don't including musical...

Yamaha sales down 12.8% in 2012

Yes for sure and as posted earlier the earth quake and during the ecomomy crash in 08 Yammie had alot of bikes that took 3-4 years to finaly sell. The other issue they had was the Chinese knock-offs, ATV's and Dirt bikes, were taking a piece of them as well.......Yamaha had to make some deep...

    Yamaha going to triple

I couldn't agree more. Lower cost, broader power band, and a narrower packaging are probibly top reasons.........I love triples myself having had a 02 955 daytona an 01 Sprint RS and still have good ooooold Speedy a 96 900 Speed triple....what a tank. It is becoming a collectors bike so I'm not...

    02 FZ1 Re-gains its Street Wothyiness!

Thanks Lonerider59....Today there is a trend to reincarnate sometimes and otherwise almost worthless old japanese barn finds into Cafe Racers. Alot of these bike's would not be good choices for restoration or Bobbers but make excellent cafe's. Prime candidates usually have ravaged cosmetics and...
