I was cruising on highway and just did a small pull to 140 -150kms for a second than i slow down and the temp light popped up and that's it .. The thing is that i didnt see any prestone passing inside those 2 fitting over the valve cover..mabye the prestone was too low

After openning the valves cover i van clearly see the rust on the 2 prestone tubing and the dirt passed over the valves cover gasket and its not good to see ... After putting the bike in 6th gear i was ..barely able to turn the engine by hand and can clearly listening a bend valves or could it...

Problem solved it was the wirering black and red wires that goes to the regulator i plugged those strait to Battery and now perfect voltage

Try connecting the voltage regulator wires strait to Battery the black and red one it solved my charging problem on mine i suspect a shorted wires in the wirering

I have a 2003,and in years i just spend regular maintenance to it your model is a pretty good bike with the upgraded suspension vs my model be sure to check the charging system the stator is not that strong on your model and some rattle on thé front fairing where the lights are.

I did test the stator with the manual and also bought a new stator but i can see the same result with my tester the old and the new one. and i just open the cover and it dosent look too dark or burn but i do have the rectifier connection the whites cables wires are burn a little

I have the same problem but my bike will start ans running until i turn off the bike and battery dont have enought power to restart but i do have 2 white câble from that connection that are.cooked in trying to find a diagram how to test the rectifier

I leave the battery on my automatic charger for the winter season mabye its burn the battery insead of keeping its charge but what is weird is that i went for a ride 2 weeks before without issue

Hi guys im having trouble right now i went for a ride and the moment km trying to restart the bike it act like a dead battery but when boosted thé bike start good.im worry about the stator because if dits a worn out battery during thé ride it will be charged but its not.

my bike is a 2003 and I have the exact symptoms as you descript ! I lost like 700$ to find it and still have this TROUBLE!
I checked the valves :OK
compression test:OK
carbs removed and fully cleaned:OK
good syncronizz:OK
ajusted mixture screws:OK
even changed my front bushing...
hello ! I got the bike since 2 summers,last summer I did a full carb tune and ajustement but if I pay for ajusting the valves will it make the bike taking less oil ... ? because my friend took my bike and when I follow my bike its smell like an old cheap honda civic on the dragstrip...
