    How Far Can You GO?

Very funny - gen 2 gets worse mileage - I really have to keep it steady under 70 mph on my gen 1 to get close to 200.

    How Far Can You GO?

My 01 will typically go 160 to 175 in the city traffic before the light comes on. I can squeeze almost 200 miles out of a tank on the freeway if I watch my speed. If I have fun in turns, around 120 is all I can hope fog. I have a Micron slip on and rejected carbs.

    K & N issue

You can find out if you are running rich or lean by looking at your spark plugs. The plugs will be dark/black if you are running rich. The plugs will be light, almost white if you are running lean. In this case, re-jet your carbs. Also, check that you are using the right temperature plugs -...

Anyone see this happen on a FZ1. Bent kickstand

I think that the forks are pretty flexible. My last bike was salvaged when I got it and the front wheel was actually not straight. I just loosened the all the bolts (bike suspended using the frame) and tightened them back up and the bike rode perfectly straight. I'd say if it rides straight...

I bet Cobalt is right. I would also check under your bike to see if anything else is bent where the stand attaches to the bottom of your bike.

Whats the engine sound tell you ?

Hey - your bike sounds (and looks) exactly like mine. I swear by synthetic oil for all my vehicles. My CBR 600 had 45k miles on it when I sold it and it ran perfectly smooth. I am on my first oil change with my 2001 new-to-me FZ1 and it is just getting to 3,000 miles from my first oil change and...

Another great day riding... Took Hwy 3 North to the intersection with the East Side Rd. Than back down to 299 and took that all the way to the coast. Only got rained on in couple spots on 3 but stayed dry after 12:00. 3 had some gravel on it around the Trinity Lake, 299 was pretty much clean -...
