That's exactly what I want.

I just want a top case. A friend has a soft expandable one on his R7 that works great, though they're not machine specific. Ebay has a few racks that support panniers but they're $400+.

Where did you get the rack? I want a top box but can't find any source for a rear rack to mount it on. Aftermarket parts have dried up for these 20+ year old machines. I might just go with one of the soft expandable cases that straps under the seat or yo the factory grab rails.

The Kenda KM-1s and ContiMotions are sold out everywhere. I found a retailer selling a set of Michelin Pilot Power 2CT for $310 and there's another $60 rebate going on.. I might do that but I'm not sure how long they'll last with my riding conditions of mostly city commuting.

That's the exact tire I have on the rear of my Silver 2001, and I love it. I have no issues putting that on my 2004.
