**This was a somewhat impromptu ride and I happened to still have my camera in my tank bag from last weekend's overnight ride to Durango/Pagosa Springs.
My original plans for this weekend where for Mrs. Clovis and I to ride 2 up to Glenwood Springs with a CSC group and enjoy some R&R but my...
Oh, it will!
The last two Junes the state has caught on fire...
Colorado Springs (where I live in particular) had the Waldo Canyon fire in 2012 (352 or so homes lost) and 2013 had Black Forrest (500+ homes burned to the ground).
May and April are always weird months because we'll have 70...
On the eve of the trip, the weather forecast deterioated to the point that going meant riding on Sunday and Monday in the rain/snow.
So rather then cancel the trip, we changed the destination to Taos, NM and the route. Had 2 great days of riding.
I'm hoping we can get a good shot again...
I wouldn't...
The year round riding and great motorcycle roads are one thing but that's one plus for a lot of negatives.
Such as, having to deal crazy people like this (Californian) woman.

My brother lives in San Fran (with his wife and kids)...
I bought my 09 for $5500 from a private party in October 2013.
It had a couple of mods that I liked, namely flush front turn signals, intigrated rear tail light (turn signals within the brake). Also had a two brothers slip on exhaust and a Givi top case.
THe topcase was a Monolock and not...
Congrats! 2009 really is the best year!
Picture of mine on the ride home. My buddy Aaron and I drove up to Denver last October and he was nice enough to drive my car back home for me (see background).
These bikes are great! I'm taking mine to the Devil's Highway in Arizona next...
Sounds awfully familiar with something we in American are just getting a taste of... Obamacare! My wife has a few young (and incredibly naive) Canadian friends that think the health insurance in Canada is just great and we (Americans) should switch to a single payer system (like Canada)...
Only two weeks to go, I can't wait!
Trip date: May 9 - 12th.
This thread will serve as the ride report for my upcoming trip to the "Coronado Trail Scenic Byway" in Arizona, better known as the "Devil's Highway" or "Devil's Spine".
The highway runs on Highway 191 between Alpine, AZ...
Wow! What a perfect day for riding! Perfect weather, light traffic, good road conditions!
I picked up a new (to me) '09 FZ1 over the winter and got to truly ride it for the first time today. This week I registered the bike, threw on new tires, plus a Sargent seat and touring wind screen I...
You're getting closer! But man... 5000 miles of highway in a very short period of time! I would say "ah, to be young again" but I'm only 32.
I ride 3000 miles a month of canyon riding (live in Colorado) and most people would say "that's a lot" but damn!
I can't think of a better way to see the...
I'm also in Colorado Springs but I see a lot of FZ1s. Saw one today close to home.
If you see a blue Gen 2 (2003) with a 32L or 48L Givi tail bag and all black leathers, that's probably me.
Go with the FJR.
I own a 2006 FJR (maybe COS FZ1's old one?) and the primary reason I bought it was for extended long distance and 2 up riding.
I also have a 09 FZ1 that I picked up just before winter because I wanted a smaller (cheaper? hopefully) bike to ride solo other than the FJR...
I have one of these on my FJR and love it. Looking to get one for my Gen II FZ1.
I'm 6'2 and 240lbs so if your seat was made for roughly that build (say give or minus 30 pounds) and you're looking to sell, please PM Me or for a faster response text me at 719-two-zero-one-9383.
I'm in...
Thanks Tiger! Looks good!
The day long saddle is a real difference maker for my FJR at least. The Mrs. and I were able to do a 1700 mile 3 day trip without rear end discomfort.
Hi everyone,
I just picked up a 09 FZ-1 and I'm debating if I want to get a Russell Day Long Saddle for this bike.
My other bike is a 06 FJR with a Russell Day Long Saddle which is a real god send.
The concern I have with putting a Russell on the FZ1 is the wings. Part of the reason...
