Anyone else had an awesome ride today?

I have the Bikemaster Superbike bend on mine. Seems I end up putting this bar on everything I own. Cheap and does the trick. I think the Renthal Ultra Low is pretty close in a somewhat classier (and more expensive) aluminum bar.

Where do you find those in stock? Everywhere I looked they're all out of stock.

I found some photos on an SV650 forum with those Superbike bend bars on a SV and they look very similar to the bars on my Silver Gen1 FZ1, now I'm motivated to get a set. I like cheap but if they're not available then I might have to step it up to the Renthal bars.

Since I'll be removing grips this will be a good time to install Oxford or even Bikemaster heated grips.

Wow! Another example of who woulda thunk it. These bars are out of stock everywhere for some reason. Silly.

I have the Renthal superbike bend on my Gen1. I Love them. They have less sweep then the factory bars, wich hurt my wrists while riding. I do 400 plus mile days with these no problem.

Those look to be the Renthal Ultra Low, which is closest to the Bikemaster Superbike bend. Are those available anywhere? They're out of stock at Revzilla, but I didn't check elsewhere.

Just checked eBay and there are some available there.

I think they are the 758's aluminum. They are still available? I saw them on Rocky Mountain ATV's website. Ive had mine for years. Love the sweep. Comfortable to me.

No riding for the last several weeks. Winter of 24/25 has been much colder in New England than last winter. The good news is there’s only 41 days till Daylight Savings Time. Can’t wait till spring. The only positive spin i can put on it is some non riding chores around the house are finally getting done.

I understand that! it's finally warming up here into the 20s. We had some cold weather last year that had us below 0, but it didn't last long. It snowed here about 5 days ago.... not much but we still have snow on the ground. We got some flurries this morning. I'm looking forward to spring as well! I may be able to finish that laundry room project that the wife wants while I'm waiting....

Been shopping for Heated gloves, 32 degrees on the way to work is not fun!
I have a set of Hippohands that I put on the bike when the riding temps get down to below summer glove weather. I can ride with my summer gloves down to the high 40s. I usually don't ride below those temps, but with winter gloves in the Hippohands, 32 could be good. I think hippohands dot com is still the only place to find them.

The only issue I've had with them is that the wind will blow them back against the clutch and brake levers, but I just got a piece of cheap strap metal and a couple of pipe hanger clamps and made a sort of brace that follows around the bars in front of the levers to keep them held out.

I just went to the web site, and it looks like they have hand guards that will correct that issue, but I think my method is a LOT cheaper. The guards no longer require the mirror mount, so that is an option, though.... The new ones don't look quite as strange as mine... worth a look!

NOLA/my front yard a few days ago. Apparently the heaviest snow fall since 1895 or something like that.😂
Must be some o' that Global Warming, er, I mean, anthropogenic Climate Change.

Same story here in Atlanta. Two snows in two weeks. I have lived here all my life (64 years) and I can't remember that happening.

300 clams for guards and covers, no wonder you made your own! Interesting product though, thanks for the tip.

My hippo hands are about 10 years old, but they are still working great. The new cold weather versions look like they could be better, but I have no complaints with mine.

If you decide you want to go that way, let me know and I'll go get some pics of the old ones and the "brace" that I made to keep them off the levers. It looks really "red-neck", but hey! it's all covered up under the hippo hands, and comes off quickly when the weather warms up. I paid $100 for the gauntlets way back then, and if something happened to them, I wouldn't hesitate to buy new ones.

I can easily do long rides in the high 40s degrees with light summer gloves and hippo hands. I don't like the feel bulky winter gloves, and the hippo hands let me use them all year. If it gets colder, winter gloves and hippos hands work great.

Cold weather, then rain for several days. Friday night it rained for about 7 or 8 hours. it finally got up into the 40s yesterday, but had to help our daughter move. Got it done yesterday, and today... in the low 60s!

I pulled up a new route I had put together but never ridden, and I figured it was time to scrub in that new rear tire. With all the rain, there were a lot of muddy tracks and gravel wash on the roads in places, but it was perfect weather for a ride. Stopped by the daughter's place and helped hang a couple of TVs and changed the tail light bulbs that the SIL had kept putting off. Then finished the route. Some nice roads that were new to me, some good scenery, and great weather. worked for me!

It has been beautiful here the past few days and almost 80 today, which is highly unusual in February. Got to exercise both of my bikes a bit, although I didn't go anywhere really fun. Felt great to get out and ride, though.

Glad some of our members are seeing some temperature relief and taking advantage of it. I’d love to be riding but 12 degrees at daybreak and a solid coating of salt, brine and molasses will keep me in the cage for a few more weeks.

Doc, I like the idea of stand alone gloves that don’t have to be connected to a controller.
(For me) when it comes to cold temps it’s like whack a mole, if you don’t have all the gear the unprotected core or extremities will eventually get cold. I’ve got the vest and gloves and they are fantastic but, if I’m out long enough my feet become the weak link.

If you don’t mind wearing used clothing there are always great deals in the spring and summer. I avoid used underwear but gloves / vest are not a problem. I’ve seen the whole combo of Warm and Safe pieces for less than $150 off season.
