I was thinking of swapping the bars after I get my new (to me) 2nd gen bike home. I really like the idea of swapping in lower Risers with something like Renthal Fatbars. Has anyone done a swap like that?

Edit: I did find a thread detailing this type of swap, but would still love to see some pictures if anyone has them.

I got a gen 2 I swapped out with 1’ risers and Pro Taper Carmichael bend dirt bike bars. I love it.
One thing you have to watch for is how your going to effect your stock cable length. My set up required very minor cable route change.
I have heard of guys that had to get longer cables.
I found with the 1” riser replacing the stock 2” and the dirt bars are a little wider and straighter but the height was pretty much the same as stock. So I didn’t need to extend cables.

Thanks for the reply. I like the look of the lower risers with the rise in the bars instead. Will definitely be going this route.

I went that route. Used a Renthal (758-01-BK) and some short risers.

The risers where very hard to find in stock for what I needed. As it is the bolt is a little on the short side. Enough room for a nut with lock tight on it, not enough room to use a locking nut. I plan on swapping these here shortly, just didn't have the option when I originally did it.

Didn't have to change any cords. All I did was cut a zip tie to make it easier.

The combination put the handles in pretty much the same location as stock, however the angle of the bar is much better on my hands. To have my wrists straight on the factory setup I had to tuck my elbows in, these are more natural for me.

I'm a big guy, most people may not have this issue. I didn't even think about it on the first FZ1 I had, just had the dealer mention something he did on his and realized that was a good idea.

Off hand I want to say they are slightly wider than stock too. Maybe like an inch on each side. I tapped mine to use factory bar end weights. The bar can easily be cut down.

Those Pazzo levers are Satin black, not the standard black, in case anyone in the future is looking for an example.

Thanks for the detailed reply! Im a bigger guy as well and feel a little cramped with the stock setup. Did you get the 10mm or 12mm bar mounts? I noticed both options on their site.

Where did you find those risers btw?

It's been over a year, but i want to say 10mm is the factory bolt hole size.

Just be warned those bolts are *just* long enough, you'll need loc tight. I plan on finding some longer bolts for mine.

When I lowered my bars, I used risers for an off-road bike and stacked washers under then to get them as low as possible. I wrapped the stack in vinyl. I just had to buy longer bolts.
Later I went to Convertibars.
