Changing My Chain & sprockets

Hi, Ive never done this before so i thought I might see if anyone had any advice for me as i go along. I have a stock 07 with about 22k miles. I bought a 520 Vortex v3 chain and vortex sprockets, 16/45. I went kind of cheap and bought the Stockton chain tool instead of the nicer $100 Motion Pro tool. Hopefully That's not a problem, I'm going to grind the chain pins first so i hopefully won't break the tool.

I have to find out somehow which way the new front sprocket goes on. The old one is symmetrical, the new one is offset to one side. I would assume this is to space it away from the case but I'm not sure. I Rivited the master link until it was “barley noticeably mushroomed” as the instructions say. Hopefully that is enough.
