BTW Carl, I am going to bring my AR-15, Remington 870 and Glock 19.

WOW!!!
That is a nice addition to any trip! :D
I was in the market for an AR but then this assault ban thing kicked up and prices went through the roof.

Your right about the weather. It has been awesome for the last week or two.

Hey - are we camping out or grabbing a cabin?

Camping. I could not get a cabin.

Yeah, I have a friend who goes out there all the time. Loves it.

That weekend I'll be at TWS doing some racing in CMRA, or I would certainly join you.

Only maybe 25 miles from here?? There are really some good roads on the way out there to ride too.

Have fun guys!! :D

Looks like Marble Falls is a happening place. This happened today.

I remember this old bridge. Marble Falls is growing pretty fast. I am talking to my GF about this being a nice place to live. About 30 min from the outskirts of Austin - This would be a good time to grab some nice lake front house.

Here is another video to think about what's coming:

Hidden Falls adventure park is awesome. I have to start off by saying that. They have 270 miles of trails on the property for motorcycles, ATVs and 4X4s. The trails cover every experience level. ....best of all EVERYONE has to yield to motorcycles and motorcycles can go anywhere.

My buddy took most of these photos. He did not catch many good ones.

I started off at 1:00 Friday afternoon with my beginner training session with Adventure Riders International. They are pretty much a startup but the trainers have 15 & 25 years of training special forces both on 4 wheels and 2. They are all around nice guys to boot.

We started out practicing the standing position. Totally foreign to me but within an hour I was taking off at full throttle without even thinking about it. We also practice moving around all over the bike while moving: side saddle. right foot on left peg. Basically what fools do on the highway when they think they are stunting. But it got us used to how the bike moves around under us as we move around the bike.

Standing

My favorite part of training was practicing full lock of rear wheel. That is just fun. We also practiced locking up the front over, and over and over and over until we could instinctively identify the slide and regain control. Scary t first but I quickly got used to it.

Locking Rear - Wish my buddy got the better ones. I was congratulated for being the one that could force swinging the tail out the farthest to both sides in a single rear slide.

We also practiced emergency stops on hills and turning around which came in handy several times over the weekend later.

No GoPro video and hardly any photos. Never even took the ANY camera out on the trails. I was so excited to ride the trails that I would just jump on the bike and go without thinking about anything else. I think Carl may have a few more photos than me.

Here is Carl and I heading out Saturday morning before our comedy of errors started (I will let Carl fill you in.) The teaser is that carl rode for only maybe 30 minutes Saturday but it was on one of the hardest trails (who need maps right?

Finally got the DRZ scratched up. Starting to look proper now....

Had to take the chain guard cover off so that I could get the shifter high enough for standing position. Any ideas on an after market shifter that would allow me to keep the cover one?

So far I am thoroughly impressed with the DRZ. It took everything I could throw at it. I went through some areas that were pretty harry that I would not have even gone through on my mountain bike. I may need to get the front and rear suspension beefed up though if I keep going to these rocky type areas.
