fender eliminator/tail tidy legal in SA.

New law's for mudguards and tail tidies in SA. A lot of grey area still. but a hell of a lot better than the old mudguard laws. Phone pic of the paper from my local Yamaha Dealer, not good quality.

Now if all the other states follow it will be awesome.

Good news. Now I wonder if Vic will follow... I won't hold my breath on it.

I believe that the ADR was changed with the agreement of all states and territories. So all states should fall in line. And to quote Motorcycle Writer

However, don’t get too excited thinking this is carte blanche for chopping your rear fender. You will still need to comply all structural modifications.

But this is indeed an unexpected but welcome step towards sanity.

If I understand right, the rules before were grey and allowed LEOs to charge you for any sort of modification to the rear fender?

All our rules seem to be grey. Cops seem to be making their own rules a lot. Last summer they had a blitz on modified exhausts and actually threatened to make a guy take his stock bike for testing at the owners cost.
