FZ1 Gear Indicator

Recently purchased a 2007 FZ1 which came with IDEA brand gear indicator installed.

Found a couple of problems with it. The Gear indicator does not work until the vehicle is in motion. When slowing down with engine breaking. It goes haywire. Even when the engine breaking is engauged in 2nd gear at 25mph, IDEA gear indicator shows 5 or 6th gear until the speed is reduced and then it slickers showinf 2nd gear.

Any recommendations for an accurate gear indicator?

I have this model and it works just fine. Try doing the calibration routine to see if that fixes it. Also check that the power lead and the connector has a good connection.
