Why, is the whole kit bad quality or something?

Since my original bracket is mashed up I will need to get that too...

The bracket is the one part that is not really up to standard. It is workable but not pretty. Luckily it's mostly hidden. The plate pieces look to have been cut free hand (roughly) and the wire parts are roughly welded too.
