Info needed on Shaving the seat....

Ok, so I've recently upgraded the rear shock to a Penske double clicker and changed out my dogbones from factory to homemade raised links (3/4-1"??).

My problem now is that I'm now being slid forward more than I care to be and wanting to shave the seat so that it allows me to scoot back a bit and level it out some.

I've never done any upholstering, but can anyone recommend and tips/tricks (without seeking outside services) on what I can do to remedy this myself?

Presently looking for an extra seat so I can further explore this without having to sacrafice ride time.

Thanks.

Practise on different seat

I recently re-upholstered my weight bench and it came out fine, but it does not get any easier than that. The stock seat is done the standard way with lots of staples, but you need to get the lines on the cover straight or it will look bad. I have heard of using a heated wire to carve the foam, or an electric knife like the parents used in the sixties. I would experiment on something that did not matter to me first.
