Do yourself a favour and buy the 5/16" or 8mm hose.
It fits tight without having to fight the hose to get it on.

Sent from my Nexus 5

Thanks, 6mm is far too small and wasn't happy with leaving it short of the end...

Just cut the other end off and sliced through the little blue washer.... F*CK!!!

Just tried to glue it back on, see how that sets..

I usually lube connections with a little di-electric gease or motor oil before assembly. Even at that point it looks like you have enough for a clamp to grab what is needed for a good seal.

I did!! Took some doing though. Sat the end of the pipe in boiling water for a min.or two first then beasted it on, you need to push and turn at the same time.

You were so close, but that's strange it wouldn't fit if it was the same inside diameter as what you took off.
I had a problem with a fuel connection the other way around. I needed a 5/16" connector and was sent a 1/4". Although it fit in it wasn't tight enough that I trusted it not to leak. It is important to use the same inside diameter on lines that was OEM since they were designed for a reason.

Sorry that didn't work out, but at least the stuff isn't expensive, and you know for sure what you need now.

After my experience I use a caliper on stuff like that to make sure I am buying the right size.

Am I the only one who had success with 6mm?

Resurrecting an old thread. I had made a hose several years ago using 1/4 inch (6mm) hose. It cracked and started leaking so I bought new hose and used 5/16 inch this time mainly because I couldn't find any 1/4 inch hose locally that was suitable for fuel injection pressure. I think now that 5/16 inch is actually the correct size.

IIRC, the recommended size from the FZ1OA thread was 3/8 or 5/16, but I think the 3/8 was really tight. I think I did 5/16 fuel injection hose and a couple of clamps... Not absolutely sure, but that was about 10 years ago... I also went with a longer hose to be sure that the tank could hinge up without pulling on the hose... ~16 inches, I think?

3/8 is 1/16 larger than 5/16 so would be looser and would probably leak. I was on FZ1OA when I made my original hose several years ago and I'm quite sure 1/4 and 5/16 sizes were what were discussed. I went with 1/4 inch back then but it is very tight getting the couplers on. I think the couplers are actually designed for 5/16 inch hose. I cut my length at just over 22 inches.

I think you're right about the recommendations... and it looks like I got those numbers crossed up. I may have tried 1/4 at first too.
You should read what I meant, not what I said! :)
