Lithium Batteries - Part II

I have had the same inconvenience with cold temperatures using a Shorai with the 919. It never failed to start but would be weak when it was below freezing. I found just turning the ignition on while I was inserting my earplugs and putting on my helmet and gloves was enough to start it up without issues

I use Shorai 14 on my FZ1. My bike stayed outside last night. Temp dropped to 31. There was ice on the seat this morning. When I hit the starter button the first time, it barely turned over. I then remembered what Shorai said about cold temps. I turned ignition on and left it on for about 3 minutes. Bike started up immediately after that.

So I'd say it's a bit of an inconvenience (have to wait a bit), but it shouldn't leave you stranded. I'm very happy with my purchase (going on about a year now, I think).
Shorai`s recommendation is to use the 18 in FZ1`s

Fish, use what the recommend and as the other guys said let it warm up.

The 4 cell in my R6 will sometimes sit for 2 to 3 months. If you ride regularly I'd assume you're good to go.

I think my XV920R is a 16, the stocker was the size of a car battery!
