Two weeks ago today I picked up my 1981 Goldwing Interstate (well used). Last night I finished phaze 1 of it's remake into a naked. I still have a few items to complete the project, namely a new seat. New mirrors and tires are on the way. I figure I have about 40 hours into the project at this time and will end up with about 50-55 altogether and maybe 500-700 bucks depending on the cost of the seat. Old and new pictures attached.

Very, very nice. I didn't realize that they utilized shaft drive way back then. The seat definitely screams 1980's for sure. Its really looking great! Keep up the nice work.

Other than the Beemers, the Goldie is the only bike I remember always having a shaft.

It's funny, I've seen 3 of these bikes in the past couple of weeks. It's a classic and you've done a great job with it. Wish I had that kind of talent. Keep us updated. Would you mind describing how it rides, especially comparing it to our newer bikes?
