Some background (2002 Yamaha FZ1)
Someone tried to hotwire my motorcycle and it fried a ground wire that was near the starter relay. I had someone patch the ground and the bike turned on a ran well for a while, including the clutch situation. I took it out today and now the bike is super jerky, and in order to even move I have to pull the clutch in a bit, so far in that the clutch isn't really engaged, the two plates are just rubbing enough to move the bike at about 40mph. I suspect that whatever switch runs from the clutch was compromised when the ground wire fried. The bike also backfires a ton now.
