R1 front end is very good. I would. You should be able to pick one up cheap enough

I understand most go for 07/08 front end but have seen 04/05 added...

Too be honest you could fit any year . Just depends on your triple tree. I'm not sure of dimensions of the r1 forks but I would say they are not far off the circumference of standard fz1 forks. But yamaha use a lot of the same parts on different bikes . So a lot of stuff mixes and matches pretty good. Front ends are easy to change aswell. So can be done at the right money if you want to put an hour or twos spanner time in.
