Aftermarket parts are hard to find for the Gen I these days, at least anything that's not universal fit. I was surprised to find an upholsterer on eBay (from Western Canada) selling seat covers so I grabbed one to replace my ratty old cover from my new-to-me 2004 fz. It wasn't cheap but a fair price and I'm very pleased with the quality. I had a local upholstery shop install it for me, money well spent as they added some thin foam over my original seat foam and got a perfect fit.

You need to get a 80's bike to understand hard to find parts my man ! sheesh
I had an 87 XT350 that I was rebuilding about 10 years ago. It was still easy to find original Yamaha parts back then, but I hear you.

I needed throttle cables for my Gen 1 in 2021 and hasd to wait a few months for the distributor to get them from Japan. I was just glad I was able to get them.

When you have to buy oem nos parts from individuals, thats when sh!ts hard to find.

aka start buying up oem parts, specifically oem yam clutch discs. Body panels are a smart investment too.
