Is there such a thing for the GEN.1 that is about as quiet as the stock pipe but not as long? Thanks.(If only I could spell)

I'm assuming that you mean quiet.... so... have you looked at MIVV? The local distributor ( PJ's Parts - Accessories For Every Bike And Rider ) is a fellow FZ owner, and a great guy.... the pipes are well made, in Italy... and they have a removable DB Killer.... it basically acts as a mute in the exhaust pipe... the MIVV GP is rather short..

it's a deeper sound... just a hair louder than stock.... as long as you leave the DB killer in... you take the DB killer out, things get a bit noisy.

How about a Gen 2 Yosh. It's very quiet with the Db killer in, and not real loud with it out...You'd have to have a gen 1 midpipe...Tha main thing is that it's considerably shorter than gen 1 pipes.
