Hi,

I've been trying to record my ride but have been unsuccessful. The vibration is strong on my 10 FZ1. The videos turn out very shaky.

Just wondering if my bike is not tuned properly or something. I've seen other people's videos, they don't show any sign of vibration.

I'll be posting the video soon.

As Wolfie said, location and type of camera is the key. Even some of the lower priced cameras have that "stabilization" built into it that helps out a ton, but to really get the video smooth, you need to find a place with least vibration. I have found that the two best places for me is underneath the front fairing and on the tail section behind the seat for rear facing video.

The bars vibrate. The tail section bounces hard on bumps, the radiator side cover bolt holes were very good on my FZ6, as the radiator is resiliant mounted, the tank is about the best spot I've found so far. Suction cup or use the filler cap bolt holes.

Have you tweaked your suspension?

I found the default was too hard and bumpy so i did the following adjustments.

Front
Compression damping - 9 clicks counter-clockwise (def 5)
Rebound damping - 20 clicks counter-clockwise (def 18)

Rear
Rebound damping - 10 clicks counter-clockwise (def 8)

It's a mini camcorder. I used those suction cup mounts used in cars for handphones. So far mounting it on top of the fuel cap has the best results.

I use the same cam and on the tank is good. I rarely use that spot because of my tank bag. Most of mine is from the rad covers (on my gen1) with a 180 degree wide angle lens

stock mirror stems with the .67 (or 8) wide angle lens

pass peg bracket (this one takes some foam for any decent vid) with the .67 (or 8) wide angle lens

and oem turn signal stem, but I can't find a pic of that; all work well. I use velcro one wrap to secure to those places and keep it in the rubber sleeve.

Using the wide angle lens lets you get part of the bike in the shot for some perspective. I just ordered some LED turn signals so I'll have to see if the cam will still work in that spot once I get them.

Found a post on the rcgroups forum about moongel, the stuff drummers use, helping with vibes. I bought some yesterday and am going to fab a mount for using on the pass peg bracket based off of what the rc plane guys use.

Does it ride like a Caddy with worn out shocks. Unless you're 130 lbs those settings are insane. You need a better mount.
