Your Bridgestone mileage is 50% better than I typically get with my Gen 1. I think road surfaces must play a big part in tire life. The FZ1OA members from down in Georgia area use to be impressed with me getting 6500 out of a set in New England. Your Shinko #s are 100% better. I alway shudder when I think how much I've spent on tires. I didn't read through your whole thread do you change your own tires?

No I bring the wheel and tire into a local shop to have it done.

I also use my bike for commuting so it is mostly freeway riding at 80mph - not a ton of stop and go.

I have 10k miles on the current set of PR 4s. Tires are definitely worn but still have life in them. Last set of PR 4s got 14k on them. I have a 2.5k mile trip coming up(not pleasure, all freeway). Don't want to swap them early but also don’t want to swap them while on the trip…

All commuting miles as well. But I ride in to NOLA each day so deff lots of rough roads.
