Appears he just panicked. Amazing the bike didn't hit the bike entering turn....or the rider again. Slow mo really shows it. Lord was with him.

Holy crap! If I didn't see that, I wouldn't have thought it possible. He pitch poled right over the handlebars; the bike remained longitudinally aligned. Often, there's just enough lean to cause a tuck and a slide into a high side or low side.

Judging by the photo bike's deceleration for the turn, he was coming into that turn pretty hot. This is also shows why, except for the expert level, tracks usually want an outside pass, not an inside. If he had been outside, he had an easy runoff there with a bunch of room to recover.

ABS anyone?
