Bought a trailtech TTO coolant/ oil temperature digital gauge, this thing is very accurate I tested it in boiling water & was spot on 100*C & 212*F, I chose the 1/8th NPT sensor since their biggest radiator hose connector is 25mm but a 28mm connector is needed to fit the gen-1 hose, had to purchase a 28mm adapter from ebay, the gauge has a long life replaceable battery and is small enough to stick anywhere on the bike.
Will also install a manual fan switch to have more control cooling the engine in slow traffic & Los Angeles summer heat.
