voltage when bike running

Bike shows 12.8 when bikes running and I give it gas , wont go to 13v or up . Seems like it charging somewhat , bike isnt dying while running etc.

jump started it rode around a while , didnt leave me stranded , but didnt re charge it like I thought it would .

Anything I should test , cheap parts I can change ? voltage regulator etc? My honda f2 had the worst voltage regulators, changed them often. Thx!

What year? STATOR, KNOWN ISSUE.

My 2007 runs as high as 14.4v when the engine is running.
 
whats this white connector of doom? , any pics and where its located , sounds like my issue

I cut out the connector , wires looked like they partly melted , voltage went up from 12.8 to 13.6 when reved up , not the 14 i was hoping , but better.
