Or did they solve some of the fuel delivery/jerkiness by 2010 to eliminate the need for, let's say an ECU flash and/or Power Commander? I'm considering a 2010 and am curious if it's smoother out of the gate than my 2006 was, which now has everything mentioned (Ivan's, and PC etc.)

I've had a 2008 since new. It was a cow when std. I've never stalled a bike as much in my life. Now the bike is a dream. Decat the std headers, Beowulf or any generic can. Remove lambda sensor. Take all the cable servo gubbins out for the exhaust valve. Do the air box mod and fit a K&N filter. Go to Junction 33 for a remap and he'll sort all the ripples out for about £250 ( don't quote me it may have gone up). My bike is now superb. Pulls deeper and stronger and better on fuel ⛽.

Noting those fixes. Sounds like a huge improvement was had. Many thanks.

ALL second gens can benefit tremendously from a flash.
Is there something I should specify, like to Ivan or whoever, when sending in the ECU or is there one standard thing they do to all reflashes? And pardon the question, do I say to them whether the bike has aftermarket exhaust/ airbox mod, and are those even necessary?

You need to let the tuner know any mods you have made or plan to make (meaning you plan to make them prior to the tune) as they can tune for them to make your experience better.

Do any mods first and document to the flasher.
My case was 16 from 17 front. Kept the 45 rear until the chain stretches.
Else was usual. No need to rip or drill anything, nor fu@k with speedo/odo. All done in the flash. Obviously ymmv...
Try Dave Verdeccia at vcyclenut...Wash st.
