Moto Guzzi Stelvio?

I like the looks but I also realize it's a big slug. Those heads are not going to feel very cool on a warm summer day, where the nearest dealer, does anyone make aftermarket parts?

Yamaha S10 would fit the bill for some gravel and road riding but if you want to to the back country right the only real "adventure" bike is the KMT adventure. I have seen the KTM in the back country of Death Valley where no big BMW GS or the Yamaha would make it.

Pete, you have too much get and go to ride a slug.

IMHO

All good points, but my take on it is wait a couple years if you want a dual sport. The new ktm 1190 looks like a beast! BMW, Yamaha, Triumph and Guzzi are gonna have to play a bit of catch up! The new KTM has 150 hp if I'm not mistaken and looks a lot better than its predecessor and competitition. Plus if your still set on a 990 the prices should come down quite a bit. Although I do think the triumph 800xc and bmw 800gs are great bikes. I will be getting a dual sport in the next couple years, just haven't figured out which one? Hail? Any input?

That's a kind of bike I like to admire, but let others purchase. The only non-Jap transportation I ever owned was a Puch moped made in Austria, two Mustangs, a Plymouth Satellite and a Chevelle. Everything else has been a Toyota, Honda, Datsun, Kawasaki or Yamaha.

AF1RACING is using the Rexxer tuning device to resolve the ECU issues.

Thanks for the links.

In my perfect world (begin laughing now) I'd have one for a touring bike.

Great shoot out article. It makes me like it even more! "A niche within a niche bike with the most character and charisma."

Trigger pulled? Stay tuned! :sinister: Saturday???

AF1 Racing is like a crack dealer! The OTD price is :jaw drop:

And Piaggio has 0 down, 60 mo for 3.9%!

Bastards...

The T is staying. This will be the touring bike. While the S scored the lowest in the review it appears to fit my needs best as a touring bike.

AF1 is flashing the Ecu and adding a pipe. It should run very well.

Roll out is 5 am tomorrow. Hit AF1 at 10 to 11 am.

Bike is flashed, pipe is on, hauls ass, smooth as silly!

11 hours of driving in rain tomorrow...ugh...:frown: It's an "adventure," right???

Yes it is not a rocket ship, but it is very punchy and the roll on is very good. About 102 hp, and 60 ftlb of torque from very low rpm.

The nearest dealer is Tulsa, 110 miles from here. But that is what I am currently doing with the Tuono.

Otherwise AF1 Racing is a few days away by mail, or a 5 hour drive. I'm in Austin two to three times a year anyway.

Aftermarket? Good question. Not much, but the bike is like the Aprilia, you don't really need anything. Good suspension, ABS, SS brakelines, good saddle, good windscreen, saddlebgs, heated grips, crash bars, driving lights, decent tires, etc. It is very nicely spec'd.

I got a smokin' deal on a flash and a pipe so I'm good to go for now.

The Rexxer device/tuner, it the next generation in flashing. It's really cool.

Nice addition!

Adding. The T is here for a very long time. Need a 2 up touring bike. Nothing but arrow straight highway here for 100+ miles. It really sucks.

Great choice for your new ride! Congrats! I am back and forth between selling the fz and getting a new tuono (all your fault) or keeping the fz and adding something similar to the stelvio for a more comfortable ride to the coast with the wife, plus the occasional back road trip. Thinking it will be more fun with two in the garage?!

My neighbor had one of these in his driveway yesterday. Very fine looking bike, maybe even a bit exotic. Fit and finish as good as HD which is the best in the business. After seeing one in person, I get it now. Might be a bit too much of an attention getter for me, but definitely works well for those who ride it.
