Monitor Wi-Fi usage

NAS is pretty simple. Or even easier, just set them all up on the same home group, and then share the drives so all can see

With a home group you can atleast remote into other machines locally if needed as well

would this system work with the wifi enabled tv's to be able to watch content thorough a local network and not impact any internet usage?

from experience?

The TV's are not wifi enabled so looking at a Netgear r7000 router with either one or two Linksys Wifi adapters. Still trying to see if the USB port on the TV's will support to allow connection.

If successful, I may obtain a bridge for the main TV in the living room to be able to hook up all media devices......but baby steps for the moment.

***edit*** I already have a 500GB passport for the initial trial, but good to know that it'll work

What kind of hardware are you using?

I have an old Buffalo TeraStation and a Buffalo LinkTheater DVD player. They work really well together - the LinkTheater automatically knew about the TeraStation and presents it as a menu choice when I access the DVD/Media Streaming menu. I can play anything off the TeraStation that the LinkTheater can "understand" but the software is out of date and I've been using a USB Drive hooked to my Blu-Ray player lately for things that are newer formats.
