So I'm back from yet another wonderful vacation spent in the beautiful State of Pennsylvania. Brian (Blavenia), Michelle, and Lexi were gracious for giving me room and board once again this year and I'm blessed to have such dear friends. We started our vacation with the last AMA Race of the year over in Millville at NJMP and while Saturday was less than stellar weather wise, Sunday made up for it with beautiful weather and great racing. Tony (NJFZ1) met us there and spent the day watching the races. Josh Hayes took another championship for Graves, and I can only hope that Wayne Rainey has much success in turning the series around to where it should be next year.
After all the racing was over I rode back into PA with Brian and family for a week of riding, wrenching, and more riding, as well as just hanging out and doing local stuff. I was happy that I finally got to see Lexi ride her new Honda around the fields and through her favorite mud hole. She did a great job ripping around on her 80.
Shortly after coming home on Thursday morning, I was sitting home with nothing much to do, so Saturday I drove back out to hang out for the rest of the weekend. Brian had gotten Michelle's PC5 for her Ducati in the mail as well as the new frame sliders for his FZ8 which I unfortunately dropped on one of our rides. I didn't feel right after dropping it until I was able to replace the sliders for him. Aside from a scratch on the top case, it was the only other damage. I only wish that my first time dropping a bike at a stop sign, that I had been on my bike and not someone elses! Brian has named it "Billy's Corner" now so I'm famous now!
So enough typing as I have lots of photos and videos to share. Two highlights of my week was the ride with Brian on Huffs Church Road, and the other was watching Lexi ride. Notable mention, however, was my ride on a 2012 Honda CBR250R to go to breakfast this morning. Absolutely super fun bike to ride! It's not the fastest bike, but makes up for that with Tons - O - Fun! Super light and flickable, 66mpg, water cooled, and fuel injected.
Okay, now for the photos............
Days 1 and 2........
Loaded up and ready to get out to PA.
First casualty of the vacation. My license plate bracket snapped in half while driving. A guy on a Hayabusa pulled me over to let me know. I bungeed it up and got to PA.
I ran to Ace and bought a super heavy duty corner brace and me and Brian had it back better than before.
I got to take the Monster for the hardware
Brian did some deal making for me and scored me his former GPR Steering Damper for a measly $150 bucks! SCORE!!! Thanks buddy!
We also changed the oil in all three bikes and his lawn mower.
Saturday At The Races
Me and Scott Russell
Marcel Irnie who I have been subscribed to on Youtube for a couple of years now. He's now racing with sponsorship in the AMA.
The Wolverine Dane Westby
Cristy Lee from All Girls Garage
Jason Britton doing his stunt show. Really nice guy.
We got our bikes Dyno'd for free on Sunday. Brian went first with the FZ8 and did a respectable 95hp. I followed with a 136.5hp and made it on the leaderboard for maybe ten minutes until the sportbike guys woke up! Hey, I was up there long enough for a tee shirt and a photo op!
More pics to come........
