Stainless steel downpipe cleaning

Hi fellers,
Just wondering how you clean your SS downpipes.
I have Arrow downpipes and there looking brown and stained, not seriously bad but not looking nice.
Now I used to use solvol autosol on things like this but I'm wondering if there's any fast fixes out there. Any sprays?
I could take them off and buff them on my polisher but that's a summer job.
What I'm looking for is a fast fix. If not the I guess it's trusty old solvol autosol until the summer.
Cheers guys

Zep acidic toilet bowl cleaner aka diluted muriatic acid will clean it up. I wouldn't use it on a regular basis, though...

And only clean with it outside.

I use Scotchbrite scouring pads with Autosol metal polish on my Arrow headers and they come up like new.

You don't want to get the green ones though as they are a tad harsh and scratch a bit too much. The ones I use are brown coloured which I get from work ;)

+1..I use the grey scotch pads with metal polish on all the alloy on the rd, small amount of wd40 too .. works a treat and is quick

Ok that's good then guys. My pipes arnt too bad at the moment but I use autosol stainless steel polish. I had a go this Sunday cleaning the micron titanium exhaust can, I can say it works fab. It's no longer that dull titanium look, it now almost matches the Arrow downpipes. I gave those a quick clean too, just to get the spots off and brown marks. I might take the downpipes to the buffer machine in the summer just for a light buffing.

I've read you have to be carefull using steel wool. Better off using stainless steel wool unless you meant just that. Apparently ordinary steel wool can break down and get rubbed into the stainless and it rusts and stains. Personally I've not tried steel wool but a mild scotch pads with autosol might be good. I know the stainless steel autosol works better on stainless than the standard autosol Polish. It gives a better finish with more luster.

after thinking about it, you are correct, i misspoke. stainless* steel wool is what i have. looks like regular but shiny gray instead of dull gray. i haven't tried using a polish yet.
