After searching for info on secondary block off for gen 2 FZ1 there isn't much help I have found. Most of what I found was just people giving a run down on how to just block off the hose to the air box and then arguing over what's the right and wrong ways to do it. I don't want to do that I want to remove the ais completely and I dove into it yesterday a bit and from what I learned I will have to remove the radiator to get better access and the tank and air box. Does anyone know if unplugging the Ais will throw a check engine light? I'm not interested in plugging hoses and all that I'm sure it works great but I want to install my block off plates I want the easier access to my spark plugs and if I'm not using the system anyways I want it gone, to me leaving it on the bike is like saving a burnt out headlight. If anyone has some tips to make the process easier or if the can just confirm I'm on the right track it would be greatly appreciated.

I did this with the Ivans kit yrs ago. Everything you said is correct. I think you can do it by just un mounting the rad and not removing hoses (i think). But if memory serves me you got the process down. And yes I agree, why wouldn’t you want to get all that crap out and do it the right way?

I appreciate the response, I tried just unbolting the radiator the other day and my hands are still too fat to fit, I think I'm just going to drain the system anyways, I popped the cap off my radiator and it looks pretty nasty I'm almost sure if it's ever been changed in the 19k miles it's been ridden ...it's Unfortunate that people will treat motorcycles like a 1990 Honda civic, do you happen to know if it will throw a check engine light when I disconnect the AIS pump?

Yesh, that is unfortunate. No CEL. Just blank off and go. There may be some old threads on the subject on this forum. Too bad FZ1OA has been shut down. Tons of info on there. Enjoy!
