Well I did it!!!

Tony, I meant to ask. How hard were the little plastic side covers on the frame to get off so that you could put on the scoops? Or did you not have to?

No, they have to come off because the scoops use those same holes for mounting.

Not too difficult. The plastic push-clips come out relatively easy. The main thing that holds those covers in is double sided tape. I simply stuck a small flat screwdriver underneath them and yanked them off.

Went through the trouble of removing the double sided tape on one side until I realized that the scoop would completely cover it. Needless to say I left it on the frame on the other side.

Thats NOT the Tony I know!!! I know it's bothering you, leaving that tape on the one side. I'll bet it will be removed by the next time I see you!:poke:

:th_smiley_rotfl2[1] Let me tell you after the trouble that it was to remove the one side I didn't really care too much, but you're right it did bother me a little bit. I'm over it now :D

Kinda off topic here but what are those rim strips that you guys have? I can't read the text on them. And on topic, the sport scoops look really good!

Mine are just rim tape that I picked up on eBay. I got a dark red that matches my bike pretty well. It says YAMAHA FZ1, but you can get them with any logo you want on them.

I have not had much of a chance to ride or even clean the bike recently. I will take some better pictures of the scoops and lower cowl when I get it out next time.
